Spencer Grennan

Last year, I got involved in fundraising for The Safe Foundation whilst doing Big City, Little City Challenge 2017. After walking 28 miles, I regrettably had to retire to become the tent master.

Although, I faced bitter defeat in not being able to complete my last challenge and fundraising target for The Safe Foundation, I would like to demonstrate the audacity of hope and perseverance in achieving my fundraising target this time round by entering the Cardiff Half-Marathon, 2018.

I have accomplished big stepping stones in the lead up to this challenge so far; running my first half-marathon with BBC Alfie's Army 2017, training with The School of Hard Knocks 2017/8 and being proactive within my community.

I first became involved with SAFE in 2015. My involvement led to me being selected for a project in Uganda in 2016 and have been on a path of self-development throughout, getting more and more involved in the community.

This Summer, I was diagnosed with autism which came as a shock to me but also a relief. You can check out my story and my next steps here: https://community.autism.org.uk/f/introduce-yourself/12960/hello-i-m-spencer-24-and-from-wales-this-is-the-story-of-my-diagnosis-employment-dispute-and-planning-my-next-steps
