We have a new favourite person, his name is Gareth Davies and we actually love him.
Not only is he a very, very, very, very nice man, but he is a very, very, very, very, very kind man and he decided to donate lots and lots of his hard earned pennies to The SAFE Foundation to support our project in Cambodia.
As a result, we’ve been singing ‘go, go Gareth Davies’ to the tune of the power rangers theme song for the last week and we’re thinking about making a little shrine for him in our office.
Mr Davies, thank you. From the bottom of our SAFE hearts, thank you. We will definately be buying you a beer some time in the near future!

Well finally, after a lot of planning, our beautiful little office assistant has found her way to Cambodia!
We’ve placed Leah, (our favourite New Zealander in the whole world), in Siem Reap for a whole 6 months to help our lovely partners, the CCAHA with their work.
Good luck, lush one – keep us posted!

With Lou’s visit to Uganda fast approaching, we are raising funds to equip our project with solar power. We have raised the funds for the solar panels, woot woot! And are now asking for your help to get a battery to store the power. Please donate via our chip in below to show your support and get some lights to the kids in the evenings!
Thanks in advance for all your support and good luck Lou on the exciting trip to the Ugandan ‘Outback’!!!
Our mate, Phil Jenkins is lush. Thats a fact. He’s a volunteer that helps out with all things SAFE from time to time and he’s so flippin’ cool that he’s inspired a new idea in us – that we’re regularly going to profile our volunteers for you so you can see who does what in SAFEland and put names to faces etc. So, without further ado, this is Phil……
Who is he???
Phil is a local Cardiff boy, who has been interested in international charity since a visit to Nepal a few years ago.
What does he do??
He’s photographer by trade, but there’s no end to his talents and he’s a keen grower of his own veggies, too! He likes to spend time just him and his green fingers nurturing his quinoa and watching his courgettes sprout. He’s also a very social lad, making time for friends and partying as a matter of course. He’s also a brill interior designer, and I should know, I’ve been to his house.
What does he do for SAFE?
Phil was responsible for initial assessment visits in our newest project in India, so on his Asian travels not only did he take lots of pictures and ask the right questions, he also wrote the best report that’s ever been written in SAFE Foundation history.
Now he’s back home he’s helping with our UK research programme as well as being present at events and volunteer training etc.
Do we love him??
Yeah. Totally love him. He’s amazing.
So, that’s Phil. We’ll be bringing you other volunteer stories from time to time, so keep those beady little eyes peeled, (urgh, peely eyes, I hate that expression), and watch this SAFE space!!
Wowzers! This year has been super good already, and things just got better with a lush donation of £1,000 from the UIA Charitable Foundation!
We want to give a massive shout out to the folk at the foundation and say ‘ta very much‘ for your amazing contribution, which is a BIG deal for our international development work.
Yay!

The most exciting things in the world are going on right now and they’re all happening in SAFEland. We’ve got heaps to tell you, but first and foremost is the most exciting news of all…
Our friends at coooool clothes label Droneboy Laundry have released a limited edition SAFE foundation tee, which can be seen HERE modelled by our pal High Contrast.
The proceeds from the t-shirt help our international projects, particularly our education projects for which the design has specially been made.
We want to say the BIGGEST thank you to Droneboy for the design and donations and the efforts, and to all of you who are definately about to buy one at www.droneboylaundry.com
YAY!
Hopefully you will all have seen that we’re raising money for sanitation tanks at the minute, so wanted to let you know of a new way of donating to the appeal, or to any of the S.A.F.E. Foundation’s charitable work.
You can donate £5 by texting SAFE to 70700. If you want to receive more information about us, what we do, who we are etc, then simply add your email address to the bottom of the text.
Your network will take £5 from your phone account and The S.A.F.E. Foundation will receive about £4.45 of this. You will receive a confirmation message from us. There is no subscription service – you will not receive any further messages nor will be charged any additional fees.
Simple as that! Yay!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our most recent chip in request!
We managed to complete it in very good time and raised £100 to buy mosquito nets for families in Africa.
You should all give yourselves a big pat on the back!
